Sure, a gem of technology made in France :8D
In terms of advanced technologies, Germany produces Volkswagen, the United States conceives Apple, Sweden sells Krisprolls, South Korea provides Samsung, but we the French, we have the pickle jar trays
Referee of south atlantic islands
I've never been one for these gimmicky kitchen utensils. For things in brine like olives, pickles and things we just fish them out with a spoon or fork and then tip out the brine down to the level of the remaining olives/pickles.
What? Me Worry
引用する: "Frenchlover"
Truly a gem of modern innovation!

Is anyone going to start another round?
引用する: "Frenchlover"The one who win will propose an other usual object.

Because of this sentence (and also because it was too easy for a french guy) I didn't give an answer, I just asked an oriented question :°
So in my opinion it's now the turn of "yusofharun" to re-start the game :P

Noooooooooo...If it wasn't because of you, I would never have found out what the mystery object was.
To be honest, I never saw this contraption in my life before B.. In Malaysia, we pickle stuff too but to fish them out, like Neil, we'd use fork/spoon.

Besides, I sort of broke the rules - I gave my answer in a form of statement (more of an exclamation) instead of a Yes/No question

You (Indomini16) are the rightful winner for this 1st round. Please do the honor to start the 2nd round, my dear sir.

*backing-off and bowing ``-*
ahahaha thanks!

So as I have not any great idea here the description of my object:

My object is in metal (mine is 20gr) and used on a daily basis by milions of people.
I'm not sure if there is an English word to describe it.
Even if the people who use it will not know how to spend a day without it, you will have difficulties to find one in France.

Okay, since I am a historian, I will use an objet I have always been fascinated by. :wiz:

This object was invented in a European country, and used a lot in the 19th and early 20th centuries, but now it is no longer used there at all.

However you can still find it being used in a South American country today. :°
Is it something used in a boat ?
Always look on the bright side of life!
No, it is used on land.

I should also add that Paraguay is not the South American country this object is still used in today. :°
Is it something to cut branches like a machete?
Is it related to coffee ?
Always look on the bright side of life!
used in agriculture?
What? Me Worry
No, not like a machete; but it does have an iconic pointy bit.

Not related to coffee or agriculture in any way either! :|

It is usually made from leather and metal, although sometimes it is entirely made of metal.

Referee of south atlantic islands
Do people wear this object as an article of clothing?
Not a knife, or any kind of weapon I'm afraid!

Yes, it is usually worn as an article of clothing.

The European country that invented this item does not exist anymore.
Cass, is this your object?
Yes it is! :wiz:

The Pickelhaube was a helmet designed in Prussia in 1842, and used by various armies mostly until the end of WWI. The Chilean army still uses it in their parades, though, since Prussian military advisors were responsible for building their army up back in the 19th century.

YAY!
OK, my turn.
I am thinking of an object that is useless by itself, but very useful when used in conjunction with other items.
It was created to for a specific purpose, and still is, but over time has evolved to include other functions.
Go!
What is it usually made of?
引用する: "CassTaylor"What is it usually made of?

Is this object electric in any way?

How big is the object usually?
It is not electric. It can vary in size from about 3 CM on up, but unfortunately, I don't know all the sizes this could be. I am sure the size varies depending on the need.
Is it a spanner or a wrench?

No, but technically, it is a tool.
Is it used to make music?
What? Me Worry
Is it used to hold things together? Paperclip?
Screwdriver perhaps?
Hello,
Sorry for my absence. I was under the weather and not online.
It is not a tool in terms of a screwdriver or wrench, but you need to utilize it as a tool.
Since there was a long delay in my response, I'll give you a clue - you need it to reach new heights.
Is it a rock climbing clip?

引用する: "XRY-478"Is it a rock climbing clip?

Yes. Excellent work!!!!
Well done!

I was thinking of crampons for some reason (the metal studs on the soles of mountain climbers' boots).
My object was Invented some time in the 17th century and is made of metal. My family's personal one is about 52g and the handle is around 18cm long.

Bribery in the form of any nice coins will be excepted.

Happy guessing. ;)
What is it primarily used for? (gardening, cooking, etc.)
Not exactly a yes no question but I suppose more details are needed to narrow it down. :)

I can't give an exact classification or it will be to much of a give away however I can tell you that it is used with a decorative item that can brighten up your day or night.
Alright, here's a yes/no question:

Is "brighten up" in your last post literal or figurative?
Is it a candlestick?
