(en) The obverse of the coin features a Komondor depicted in a half-profile, static, and watchful position. The central motif captures the characteristics and temperament of the breed: its thick, corded coat provides excellent thermal insulation and protects the animal from injuries during its work. With its distinctive silhouette, it offers a commanding and emblematic sight. The obverse also features the mandatory design elements of coins: the inscription ‘MAGYARORSZÁG’ in the upper semi-circular legend, the year of minting ‘2020’ on the right, the ‘BP.’ mint mark containing a security element on the left, and the denomination ‘2000 FORINT’ at the bottom.

Reverse
(en) The reverse of the coin depicts three Komondors at work, in their characteristic guarding and watchful posture, referencing the fact that the Komondor essentially guards and protects its territory and the flock in a pack. In the background of the grassy Puszta scene, a farmstead appears with a sweep-well and a grazing flock of sheep. The name of the breed, ‘KOMONDOR’, is visible in the upper semi-circular legend.
