Nickel brass is a copper-zinc alloy that contains a small proportion of nickel, which improves strength, corrosion resistance, and colour stability compared to
standard brass. It typically has a pale yellow to golden appearance. It is distinct from
nickel silver, which also contains copper, nickel, and zinc but in different proportions that result in a silvery rather than golden appearance. In coinage, nickel brass is often used to give a durable gold-coloured look for circulation coins without precious metal content.
