Hello all, this is my first post and it is one of the coins from my father's collection that I've just discovered while clearing the attic. Know very little about coins any info would be appreciated eg material, history, worth. Thanks

It looks like this 8 reals of Mexico
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces15060.html

to see if it is authentic or a replica, you can start by weigh is on a gram scale. it should weigh close to 27 grams.
if it is more than 4 grams light is it a brass replica.
edit to add: it looks good in the pictures. If it is authentic it is a very nice valuable coin.
