With the help of Camerinvs, I was able to attribute this item. Camerinvs was almost there...This is a Sesino of Vespasiano Gonzaga-1531-1591. His coinage begins in 1562. This piece was struck between 1562 and 1565. It does not appear on the NGC website which uses the Krause catalogs as a basis as they show coins dating after 1565. The coins on the Numista site referenced by Camerinvs also post date this coin.
The coin exhibits the following diagnostics:
D.- 16mm
W.- 0.86 gram
Metal- Billon
Obv. Inscr.- VESPA .GON. COL. MAR. ET. C :Struck when he was Signore & Conte.
Obv. Descr.- Bust left
Rev. Inscr.- NICOLAVS SANCTVS
Rev. Descr.- Saint Nicolas standing facing.
Many thanks to Camerinvs who did the bulk of the lifting...

Ooh! Nice coin, very unusual!
And good ID Camerinus!
For future info, on this sort of coin, when there is plenty of text, one of the easiest ways to ID is to go through the Corpus Nummorum and to use a find command!
I collect anything: If it's Italian or Italian states i collect it even more!
Thanks to Ioruca for the tip about finding Italian coins...I assume it was Corpus Nummorum Italicorum on-line version or PDF Download, to which Ioruca was referring, and seems an approach that is sure to succeed in future attributions.
No Camerinvs...I have not added anything to the Numista catalogue previously, but will attempt to do so in the next day or so.
Per Camerinvs' query, I have posted the coin to the Numista catalog and it is in process; it may take some considerable amount of time before it is accepted or rejected. Will confirm one way or another as I am informed of same.
Per loruca's suggestion, I searched CNI and found a reference to the Gonzaga Sesino as follows:
Corpus Nummorum Italicorum, Volume IV-Lombardia zecche minori, page 540, coin numbers 11 and 12. Would have narrowed it down further but am unable to translate the Italian abbreviations well enough to be sure.
The coin has been accepted and is now part of the Numista Catalog. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces179407.html. Thanks again to Camerinvs and loruca for their help in my quest to attribute this coin.
