Hello,

Sorry to say that but 1, 2, 5 and 7 are for sure fakes.
#3 seems to be a sestertius of Alexander Severus but I'm not sure about its authenticity.
#4 is from the ptolemaic Egypt. Maybe under Ptolemy V. Obverse shows Hercules with the leonte and reverse standing eagle.

#6 is a coronation token of Louis XVI : https://www.cgb.fr/louis-xvi-couronnement-spl,fjt_08818,a.html
#9 is a double tournois à la croisette under François Ier I think, not sure of the mint.
#11 It's a 1/24 of Thaler from Brandeburg i think but I'm not sure of which one.
#12 is probably from an Austrian States, but I don't know which one.
#15 is a denar from Hungary. With what's left of the legends, identification should be possible.
#25 is a centime from France, dated l'an 7, Paris mint (A letter).
Here are some better pictures and a summary of the replies I go to date:

The information on the coins I have are:
1. Fake, confirmed by two members, 17,25g, +-+32,6mm ;(

2. Fake, confirmed by two members. 20,9g , 44,3 mm8~

3. Possibly Roman 12,0g, 31,7mm, not magnetic, possibly bronze or copper, suggested to be one of the coins in this series, https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces108830.html, still to be confirmed as this coin has SC at the bottom and the one in the catalogue not.:(

4. Possibly Roman or Ancient Greek (perhaps Ptolmaic Kingdom) 10,2g, 28,05mm, Bronze, Brass or copper, sugested to be Ptolemyses, but either III or VI. Not sure what to make with the comment

5. Fake: Identified as a bronze copy of a silver coin of Seleucid rulers of Syria, Antiochus VIII 121-96 BC.

6. Identified: Coronation token of Louis XVI : https://www.cgb.fr/louis-xvi-couronnement-spl,fjt_08818,a.html:D

7. One sugegstion on possible fake, another that it might eb part of this series https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces145556.html (To be confirmed): Possibly ancient Greek (perhaps a copy) 3.5g, 19,2mm, not magnetic, a white type metal possibly silver?

8. German/Austrian State, Swiss Canton or similar, 1,35g, 20,5mm, Silver with possible value of "3". Suggestion to be a German state coins from Rheinland Pfalz - Salm-Dhaun, 3 Pfennig from Rudolf. If so, what would be the year, possible catalogue number?

9. Second suggestion says it is not from Dombes, so still need confirmation, earlier suggested to be https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces139456.html

10. Possibly German state 0,45g, 15,3mm, silver, value 1/24

11. German State Brandenburg-Prussia 1/24 Tahler, 0,65g, 15.7mm, silver, possibly km65, or 104 or 106. Suggestuion that this might not be Brandenburg, still to be confirmed.

12. Identified as Salzburg, 1 pfennig under Belasi https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces72976.html, uniface, 0,25g, 11,8mm, value or "1", silver

13. Possibly German State Nürnberg, uniface, 0,2g, 13,25mm, silver

14. German/Austrian State, Swiss Canton or similar, uniface, 17,85mm, Copper or bronze

15. Identified as Hungarian Dinar https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces59945.html, 1530 :8D

16. Possibly Bohemia, 0,8g, 13,15mm, silver, II Kreuzer. One suggestiuon is that it might not be Bohemian, rather German States. to be confirmed. Second suggestion is tht this is Falz-Zweibrücken 2 Kreuzer. if so what year, possible calatalogue number?

17. Unknown, 0,4g, 12,6mm, copper or bronze

18. Identified as Tyrol kreuzer under Sigismund the rich https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces71584.html, 1,0g, 18,6mm, Silver

19. Possibly French, or Bohemian, 2,15g, 22,5mm, Copper or bronze, suggested to be a possible French Teston, still to be confirmed

20. Possible Austrian State, 1 Kreuzer, 1600-1650, Vienna Mint or oppeln, uniface, 0,3g, 150,2mm, silver

21. Identified as https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces125930.html, date unknown <:D

22. Identified as an ornament and not as a coin, oval 12,75 x 9,8mm, 0,65g.

23. Possibly German State Mainz (have simalr coins from Mainz with similar design), 0,85g, 17,7mm, silver

24. Identified as 1274/1858 Afghan Rupee, I think #497.2: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces48743.html (;0

25. Identified: Frence km646 https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1117.html :D

26. German State Pfalz, dated 1746, Eine Kreuzer, can not find this design in my catalogues. Suggested to be Pfalz (Karl Theodor) Schön#109. Do not have the catalogue and can not find it in my books. The closest has a FO mint mark, this coin only has O. Suggested to be https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces34315.html, but the dates don't match.

27. Identified as https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5576.html, as Spanish-Netherlands coin, date unknown8)

28. Identified as https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces145365.html, German State- Dortmund ;)

28. It looks like https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces137998.html
Nothing else is similar anywhere. The common thing about some coins are this Jerusalem Cross, the crusaders use it as well, it could be a crusader coin. Unfortunately the reverse is very bad, but Mindenor this: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces145365.html are nice suggestion. more like the latter. it looks perfect match.
27. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5576.html
26. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces34315.html but you need to add the info, there is another 1 kreuzer of the same ruler, but it's different, this is the similar brother coin to it. You need to add the photos, weight and everything. nice find!
23. I cannot find the coin in numista. but it clearly says Maximilian. In my opinion this is some german state. Try to find in catalogues maximilian (no matter I or II, III, etc.) this wheel in the insignia bugs me...
22. nothing more to add to this wire kopeek. It could be a local coin from some russian city...
21. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces125930.html
20. it's definitely habsburg austrian dynasty. It resembles https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces78886.html very much, but it could be from some other city under Maria's wing..
19. it took me one hour to look for this.. I might came across something interesting. it resembles https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces80774.html which is Luxembourg and have both the 3 lilies and a lion. This could be another anonymous luxembourg medieval coin or medieval token. In my opinion add it to numista under Luxembourg and let the specialist there to search even more. Add my similar link page, let us hope we found something very cool. :))
The rest of the coins you pretty much got it.

This is it buddy, I hope this helps! I will see what you have for swap. hopefully we can do something?

15.
definetly not km174, it’s earlier and more interesting :) (and a little bit more expensive)
the date on the coin is 1530 (second picture, on top), so its a Janos Szapolyai denar from Hungary

22 is not Russian wire kopek. The text doesn't correspond to any of them.

Most probably this is mordovka - imitation of wire Russian coin minted by the Mordva people in mid-Volga region. The one with hole commonly used as decorarion of clothes

3. Indeed Roman.

Not the one you point but a bronze coin of Severus Alexander.
Obverse seems to be IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG and reverse something like PM TR P X COS III P P. SC in fields stands for Senatus Consulto basically meaning "By Decree of the senate". Reverse figure seems to be holding patera or grain ears over an altar at left and a sceptre at right.

18 is a Tyrol kreuzer under Sigismund the rich https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces71584.html

Philip

Good morning All

This is going very well. Thank you for everyone who have submitted suggestions and identifications.

There are 3 more coins to be identified, as shown by ZacUk above, and three more where more specific information is required. For those where more specific information is required, gere are the photos again so you don't need to scroll up

3. Roman coin, 12,0g, 31,7mm, not magnetic, possibly bronze or copper, suggested to be one of the coins in this series, https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces108830.html, still to be confirmed as this coin has SC at the bottom and the one in the catalogue not.

4. Egyptian (perhaps Ptolmaic Kingdom) 10,2g, 28,05mm, Bronze, Brass or copper, suggested to be Ptolemyses, but either III or VI. More specifics required in order to confirm identification

8. German State, 1,35g, 20,5mm, Silver with possible value of "3". Suggestion to be a German state coins from Rheinland Pfalz - Salm-Dhaun, 3 Pfennig from Rudolf. If so, what would be the year, possible catalogue number? More specific information need to confirm ID.

Thanks again for your help.
Philip

The latest summary I saw was incorrect for 10.

The stag (deer) in the upper left of the coat of arms is definitely Stolberg. Another member attributed this to a Stolberg division, but you have it on your summary as something else.

8. Someone referenced a similar legend for this one. The line under the one they highlighted began "Johan and Adolph", which is what is on your coin. It is a 3 kreuzer, for a joint rule of at least these two men. Most likely Germany, but could be Austria. Early 1600s most likely.
引用する: "numisquare"#08 See this Google book, bottom of page 1213, #4266. The legend is very close to the visible legend on this coin.

Look at Saurma, under Wild und Rheingrafen von Salm, Saurma 1031, issued 1585-1625 (undated)
Halfdime, you are very close. It is indeed the German State - Salm (Salm-Dhaun or Salm-Grumbach).

Unfortunitally I do not have any catalogues pre 1600, so I have been unable to confirm the exact type.

The legend, as suggested previously, and in the link; is spot on.
  • It is a 3 Kreuzer from Salm
  • Front is a four fold arms with 4 lions, with central shield
  • Front legend: IOHA. ET. ADOL. SYL. RH. CO. IN.
  • Reverse is a crowned imperial eagle, 3 in orb on chest
  • Reverse legend: RVDOL. II. RO. IMP. AVG. P.F.D.
  • Weight 1,35g size 20,5mm
  • Undated

So now at least I have an indication as to the issuer. Thanks

Do you have Saurma, or a link to it? Saurma also lists it as Grumbach.

Indeed, would agree. thanks for the suggestion.

Note the upper right quadrant of the shield. Your coin has the two 'mountains'; the suggested coin has an eagle.
Thank you to everyone for you help. I will for now close this topic.

Have a fabulous time collecting
