I picked up a 1750 2 daler plate (yes, it's from the Nicobar shipwreck) for about $300, the 2 remaining corner stamps the year is perfectly readable, and center stamp with denomination is also clear. I don't know about finding a 4 daler for that price though. One of my favorite "coins". But to find the right one you have to be patient, at any given time there's probably only 4 or so (of any denomination) for sale online.
The only one of those others you listed that I have looked into is the Laos boat money. But it's such a broad category and so difficult to know you're buying something authentic.
There are a lot of uncommon German States coins including Thalers that you can get in that price range.
I'd go for a big silver crown that is fairly uncommon and in demand. There are many nice South American peso's from the 19th century, and German and Italian states crowns from the same period.
It depends what you like? Do you like animals on coins? Mountains? Shields? If you want something genuinely scarce and in demand in that price range or cheaper, you could go for a Chile 1793 1/4 Real. Genuinely scarce coins aren't available every day though.
How about a nice Danish West Indies 20 and 5 cents with boats on them? Or a 1930 Iceland 10 Kronur?
Why are you having a numista rarity rating restriction? It's a meaningless number. There are some of the NZ proof dollars with a Numista rarity rating of 90 that I can go down to the local shop and buy 5 of them whenever I want.
Purchase a copy of the book Chrysal Or The Adventures of A Guinea and a Guinea from the time of the book, it was a very popular book and even rated further volumes but is largely forgotten about.
引用する: "Monninen1"Good ideas! Suggestions are still very welcome.
I'd actually suggest you go and buy some Italian/San Marinese 20 Lire coins from the interwar era; they're about 100€ each, give or take a bit, in reasonable condition.
引用する: "Monninen1"Suggestions for a possible "set 3" are very welcome. Suggest a coin!
It must be:
Numista rarity index (CAN BE MORE OR LESS) 85-100
~20-60€, sold atleast sometimes
From the years 1700-1917
Just a small reminder, I dont collect coins minted after 1917. Sometimes 1918, but rarely.
On the same lines as Oggy and Druzhynets, i'd suggest a large antique crown. You could get a fairly decwnt papal piastra from the 17-1800's with that. Or if you like your history look into a Napoleon Bonaparte 5 lire or 5 francs. You could get a very nice coin for only about half your budget.
I collect anything: If it's Italian or Italian states i collect it even more!
