'still in circulation' is an interesting qualification, because each of us has been surprised on occasion, to receive a coin in circulation that has some numismatic value, so
heaven only knows what is still circulating, certainly some really rare and valuable pieces remain to be culled from change!
I think you are asking about the rarest of legal tender coins, that commonly circulate, as distinct from the novelty and commemorative coins made for museums and collectors only, so amusing as those 1 tonne gold coins are, no one will ever find one in the toe of her Christmas stocking!
In the case of the USA to consider one example, most coins, like the quarter dollar for instance, have been the same size and shape for centuries, so you
could look down one day to find you are holding a 1866 "no motto" seated liberty quarter. Only one example of this type is known to exist! it is supposed to have been a special unique pattern test, but who knows, maybe there is another floating around!
In second place of rarity for US quarter dollars is the 1873 CC "no arrows" type, six of these are known to survive, of an original mintage of a mere 4000 pieces.
there are doubtless many other examples around the world of unique remaining coins of common circulating types.
