The million dollar Canadian is real. I took a picture with it at the Berlin Show at the RCM booth.

By bullion and face values, I think it's the 1 million dollars Maple Leaf.

However some other coins have been sold at higher prices, like the Flowing Hair Dollar in 2013 :
