Mine is this ancient Roman coin of Constans that commemorates his 15th year of being evaluated to Caesar. It's dated from the year 347 CE and was struck in Antioch. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces73210.html
According to Numista's definition of commemorative, my oldest commemorative is the same as the OP's, and my second oldest is this Hungarian type from 1943 (my example is heavily damaged though).
I have some Roman "Votis" types (none entered into Numista though), but I don't count them as commemoratives.
If I had any city commemoratives (the Roma and Constantinopolis series of 1100 AUC/347 AD), I would've counted them, but I don't have any.
I suppose I could kind of count this type - it was apparently issued to commemorate the opening of a new mine. If so, this is my oldest commemorative.
VRBS ROMA from around 330, I guess this counts as a commemorative:

引用する: "Oklahoman"My oldest US commemorative coin is the 1932 Washington quarter.
I don't think this counts as a commemorative, because the Washington design became the new definitive. He's been on every quarter without interruption for 85 years now.
If the standing liberty design resumed in 1933, then the '32 Washington would count.
No quarters were issued in 1933. When quarter coinage resumed it was 1934. NGC on their website and the Redbook have called the 1932 a commemorative. The event was the bicentennial of washingtons birth...some neat history though...originally it was requested to be a half dollar. Wikipedia says its not a commem. But hobbyists common and unknown call it a commem. It was not struck the year after and only became the standard in 1934...
is the 1937 Australian crown no longer a commem of KGVI coronation because they struck the design in 1938?
lots of FAO designs were used again and the designs are not necessarily considered FAO..even though the first of its type might have been. SKorean 50 won...
While you are not wrong, I am not wrong either.

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces16991.html
also the 1871 siegesthaler as well a couple danish 2 kroner from the 1890s
those are the sorts of commemoratives I like to focus on for my collection
My oldest commemorative coins (at least by Numista's definition) are these 1913 Prussian 2 and 3 mark coins, commemorating the 25th year of Wilhelm II's reign. They are beautiful coins, two of my favorites!
引用する: "ashlobo"Is there an easy way on Numista to figure out the "oldest commem coin" in my collection ?
I did an advanced search for commemorative coins in my collection with a date range of 1-1950 and then eyeballed it from there to find the earliest date.

Ah ! I never noticed the "in" collection option. Looks like I was spot on...the 1000 reis coin was the only one that pulled up

I disagree, the 1932 Washington Quarter was intended as a one year type commemorative issue, just because they kept the design, doesn't mean it's not a commemorative. Same is true for the Peace Dollar.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

My last post here was before I won a Lima halfcrown
It's about 1800 years younger than the Roman pieces being described, but at least its not

Nice coin. My oldest commemorative is this coin's wee brother. I've got a 1745 Lima 6d, it's not in as good condition as this.
The same guy was offering another one later on, not as worn.
They loved to brag about the LIMA capture didn't they
2 years and multiple denominations (6d/1/- and 2/6) and they did a crown in 1746.
For some reason, smaller silver coins (penny to groat) were not marked with it.
The Spanish were probably less happy.

There is something incredible about holding a piece of silver that you can guarantee was seized from a Spanish treasure ship. Adds so much more to the coin.
