Could someone explain me more about the mintmarks of these coins?
I've several coins with an AA, AB, PMAB, AC, AD, etc. mintmark, but I've no idea where these coins are minted. Could someone tell me?

Thanks for the link, it really made things clear!
Maybe this phenomenom should be added to Numista's Documentation page? People ask things about these mintmarks quite often, apparently.

Yeah, I have an AD our lady of Europa 20p piece and I cannot find that variety in any catalogue ! One day I shall get round to messaging the mint, asking whether those dies were ever used !

It is more correct to call these marks on IOM and Gibraltar coins as die letters. The PM is the mintmark representing the Pobjoy Mint. Another acceptable term introduced by Schon is batch letters.

The die letters are like the die numbers that were used on British silver coins in the 1860's & 1870's.
