A wolf is hunting a turkey. This turkey then escapes, to meet a turtle. A person then kills this turkey to feed it to her and her son. What coin depicts the Wolf, Woman, Son, Turkey, and Turtle?
A country issued a coin with an anachronistic map of its nearest neighbor.
it made so much noise that 100 000 000 coins have been immediately withdrawn
The map found on the Italian 1000 Lire coin minted in 1997 was stylized. However, Denmark was shown as part of Germany, The Netherlands was included in Belgium, and the eastern part of Germany was nowhere to be found. Italy quickly introduced a corrected version of the map and produced a million new coins.
And Luxembourg was not existing in the first map !
In fact they didn't take out of circulation this coin - it's a legend :
Just look at the mintages, 100 million of one (united Germany) and 80 other ... however, that with a divided Germany is paradoxically even more common, because, while the other coin went into circulation and stayed there (and is therefore also been retired at the end of 2001), that "wrong" was immediately hoarded (in due to the fake-story-telling that these coins had been withdrawn from circulation and therefore rare) by collectors, with the result that the 80 million coins are still almost all in the collectables market.
