Royal Mint Coin/Token id please

Hi all. Please could someone help id this please? I is 28 mm and 4.32 grams. Is it a pattern? Thanks

 

 

 On that first picture I recognise the logo at the top - 

it is Texas Instruments

 where my uncle used to work in the 1960's at their 

factory up on Manton Lane in Bedford, UK. It was 

in the early days of microchips and so on … 

 

 

 Though unsure what venture they had with the Royal Mint …

 A quick search then found this 

 

where thinking the 9 was in Pence would be wrong, 

as it is the metal mixture number from that list. 

 So there are 8 others to collect …

 Though those have Royal Mint on one side, the logo 

side is replaced by numbers and letters, so would be made some 

time before the updated token the member has, presumably ....

Fascinating stuff Zac. Thanks for sharing. Was not aware of the existence of this test tokens but their extremely interesting. Seems its extremely rare for them to pop up on their own. Thanks all
