Coins with interesting face value

3 posts • 104回閲覧

There are just 3 cases in the world where coins can still be used in circulation but their face value is not 1 Unit, but 100 subunits - Suriname, Saudi Arabia and Timor Leste

For 2, only one, Timor Leste

For 2.5, only one, Suriname

Timor Leste photo is not mine, I don't own yet those coins.

Also, if you find any other examples or denominations that fit the criteri, drop a message.

Eritrea also have a 100 cents coin: N#2402.

But as it's almost 30 years old, I'm not sure if it's still in circulation.

With the 1 Nakfa banknote, this can also count to your other query, about the same denominations in banknotes and coins.
