Official re-minting of the Belgian Franc, demonetized in 1988 and bearing the date 2001 to commemorate the end of the history of the Belgian Franc. Other Belgian coins were re-minted in gold and silver for this same purpose.
A dissenter and the letter R (re-minting) were added to the reverse.
