Canada - Is this a double listing? [解決]

6 posts • 99回閲覧

I can find two listings for an item I purchased today but am undecided as to which one I actually have….

Weight the same but dimension is 31.5 more than one but less than the other….. same features as both coins Numista just has the pictures in different order. Read the descriptions for both items one talks of there also being a .999 version and it being brass plates zinc the other talks of it being issued by Shell Oil but no mention of the silver version.

Hello 🤖

Without pictures, it will be very difficult for anyone to help you. Could you please post clear pictures of each side of your item?

Please note that this is an automatic message. Feel free to ignore if it is not relevant.

I would consider it's a double listing even though there were not from the same dies. You can see that the lettering size of “Mapple” is different (but might be cause to wear). Diameter between 30 and 32 is likely to be 31 +-0.5mm. Do not rely on the accuracy of measurement of owners …

You can see there are some varieties, on the Token Catalog example, flagpoles are barely visible:

Not to mention one is bronze and the other brass plated zinc.  So which is right? My money's on the brass plated zinc.

Thanks for the input will list mine with the brass plated zinc and consider it sorted :)

I would agree that the two listings are duplicates.

N#27949

I don't know which composition is correct, but I would lean towards brass plated zinc.  They just have that look to them, plus a similar series also produced by Shell in the same time period was just ordinary zinc.

At the risk of providing unsolicited advice or suggestions, I'd recommend making 27949 the surviving listing and updating any details there as needed.  It is the original listing and it is part of a Numista series called “Emblemes floraux et Armoiries du Canada” (which should be updated to be bilingual).
