Help identifying a possible medieval coin

3 posts • 76回閲覧

Found this object a few days ago while metal detecting. The dotted border and round shape from the border makes me believe it could be a coin. Hope someone here could help me identify it as a coin or dismiss it as a coin.

It weighs 2.66 grams. Uncertain of alloy. At first I thought it was copper, but having cleaned it i noticed a small dott of silvery color where the crust has fallen off. Take in mind it has been laying underneath clay-rich soil for probably hundreds of years, so it could be a billion of sorts.

Much appreciated.

Reminds me this one

First off, thanks for the reply!

It does look similar but im quite sure its not it. Notice the centre of mine has a circular design. Also the pfennig weighs 0,34g whereas this weighs 2.65.

However, it could be a Strasbourgian coin.
