Here is reply on my inquiry from STIFTUNG DEUTSCHES HYGIENE-MUSEUM

thank you very much for your message.  Unfortunately, we do not have any surviving documents. The archives were largely destroyed in 1945. The medal was most likely minted in 1922, but not issued until 1930. The source is: : Karl Scheuch: Medaillen aus Porzellan Band II Ausgabeorte D bis E, 1968 ( (scan). This design was created during a period of great financial difficulties. We do not know whether it was intended as an award or a souvenir. The "Hygiene Eye" has been inextricably linked to the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum (DHM) since the official poster of the 1st International Hygiene Exhibition in Dresden in 1911 (design: Franz von Stuck). In 1921, it was officially confirmed as a symbol for exhibitions (see the exhibition guide "Der Mensch" 1921, scan). The museum also manufactured teaching materials. In 1923, a "Aktiengesellschaft für hygienischen Lehrbedarf" (stock company for hygienic teaching materials) was founded from the workshops, and the eye was the trademark since 1925. The museum building was only opened in 1930. On this occasion, the Second International Hygiene Exhibition in Dresden was held in 1930/31. The city of Dresden and the museum organized it jointly. Various medals from Meissen were again issued as "exhibition commemorative coins." (Scan) This eye is more "modern," based on a design by Willi Petzold. We have several of these medals in our collection https://sammlung.dhmd.digital/search

Here is a best match from above mentioned source Karl Scheuch: Medaillen aus Porzellan Band II Ausgabeorte D bis E, 1968

Can we add my medal to Numista catalog based on this info?

Nicholas

You can add it to Numista in two ways. After you attempt to search for an item and do not find it you will see a link at the bottom of the page  “Add it yourself”

Or an easier way sometimes is to find a page simi to the item you wish to add. Open that page, and at the bottom is a link “Duplicate this page” and that link will start a new submission. It will copy EVERYTHING on the page to a new submission except the main photos. Then all you have to do is add, edit or delete the information that applies to your item. Add photos and submit.

Hope this helps.
