The note is signed by Evans & Macfarlane.
The Date is 1996 - based on first 2 digits of the serial.
There are no names under the portraits.
Are the serials blue? I don't have any other notes to compare.

The above combination is not listed in the catalogue for this note,
What am I missing?

Serial numbers are blue.

Apology that I have to delete my previous post as I confused myself, after so many years.

You are correct that what you have is the $10 nd1996 issued with the signatures of Edward Alfred Evans and Ian Macfarlane. The first prefix for this series is AA96 and the last is EA96. For each prefix, only 149,999 were printed.

No numismatic folders were issued with Evans/Macfarlane's signatures. Only those with Bernie Fraser and Macfarlane:

Premium $10 - Red serial number AA96 in folder, 1000 sets printed with 900 released at A$65 per set

Deluxe $10 - Black serial number AA96 in folder, 8,000 sets issued with s/n AA96 001001 - 008000 and sold at A$20 per set.

Yours is just the normal issue.

I hope this helps.

I'm confused. Isn't the pictures attached to the 1996 year line a numismatic folder? If not, what is a numismatic folder?

That's what confused me too.
There is no “normal” 1996.

That wasn't the question.  Is this a “numismatic folder” or not?  Should there be a year line for 1996 “Normal” too?

The signatures for the folder are not the same as the normal notes. Folder sets signatures are Fraser and Evans.

Whatever you do, do not remove the note from the folder. If you do, the bottom edge of the note will go wavy. This is due to the chemical reaction of the glue on the sleeve and the polymer note. If you do remove the note, I would consider it as damaged.

I removed all the notes from the folders that day I got them.

Thank you. So Numista is missing a year line for 1996 “normal” and the existing year line has the wrong signatures in the comment.
