Can the American Numismatic Society be added as a website reference? With links to the Coin and Medals that are cataloged on that site? Like PCGS and Token Catalog with a direct link to the item. For example

https://numismatics.org/collection/1977.264.139

is this medal on Numista

N#200234

Or

https://numismatics.org/collection/0000.999.70660

is this one on Numista

N#155171

https://numismatics.org/ is the main page and states it has 800,000 objects from the 7th century to date.

You can add that medal from American Numismatic Society as an example on Numista page, but itself is not a reference, we already have many samples from them, like here N#406010 or here N#406093

And usually those pages have a reference block with references to actual catalogues

It should be a reference.  In your examples how many have Price? It would be large improvement to the Numista catalogs to make it possible to easily link directly to the ANS reference page.

For that medal there are 4 references in ANS, which one you will put?

ANS references are not uniquely identifying coins or medals, there could be many samples of same coin/medal, why you prefer having simple links instead of having nice examples with pictures/sizes/Hoard ids?

I'm not forcing registering all items from ANS, just 1-2 per page would be enough

That medal is referenced only once. The other 3 you show are 3 different medals. None of the 4 you have linked are alike.

Here are the bronze versions of the same 3 medals and the one silver.

In this case you're correct, but again, in general ANS references are not uniquely identifying object.

And the question remains the same : why not register them as samples on the page?

Hello,

The ANS website shows their collection. Collection catalogues should be added as reference catalogues on Numista only when they also serve as reference due to the lack of other references, for example the British Museum collection (BMC). I don't think ANS brings value for reference numbers. The best way to link to the ANS website would be to add their medals as examples on Numista. This will produce a link to the specific medal on the ANS website.
