Hello,

please add the issuer Württemberg-Oels-Juliusburg

This is a seperate Family line of Württemberg-Oels

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and its two ruling authorities who have minted coins:

1673-1684 Julius Siegmund, Duke of Württemberg-Oels-Juliusburg

1673-1684 Julius Siegmund, duc de Wurtemberg-Œls-Juliusburg

1704-1745 Charles, Duke of Württemberg-Oels-Juliusburg and Bernstadt

1704-1745 Charles, duc de Wurtemberg-Œls-Juliusburg et Bernstadt

here some background info of the two rulers

Juliusburg is nowadays called Dobroszyce

Do we find coins attributed to this place as an issuer?  Or do we still find the coins attributed as Wurttemburg-Oels, but with these additional rulers?

I couldn't find coins attributed as Wurttemburg-Juliusburg on acsearch, but could find these rulers.

I do se them often just listed as Württemberg-Öls altough when we look at the Ruling Tree of the Family these are clearly seperated and the family members owned different lands in the Oels Region.

Here one recently sold listed just as Württemberg-Öls

Here from the Catalogue Württembergische Nebenlinien with some of the coins listed from Julius Siegmund

It looks like all three of these guys were using exactly the same titles at the same time, just striking the coins in different mints for the different parts of Wurttembug-Oels that they owned.

I know it is confusing to have several rulers for the same issuer at the same time, but I think this is also the case in Liegnitz-Brieg a little earlier when we have Georg, Ludwig and Christian all striking coins in their own names:

N#47292

N#78764

N#99109

KM keeps coins of Julius Siegmund under Wurttemburg-Oels, but we don't always follow them.

I will ask Jarcek to take a look, since he's more experienced here.

(and I must say Silesia can drive us crazy with all this dividing up and then re-uniting of these tiny places 😵‍💫).

Bump?

I am still inclined to having a ruling authority rather than an issuer here.  Maybe jarcek can have a look?

Yes, Silesian families had this progressive thought of giving all sons a piece of land, instead of sending them to be priests. Auctions sites do not distinguish them, because frankly, it is hard to do and almost useless work. I am sure Silesia will give us even more suprises in the future.

We should at least have name of that issuer searchable and maybe use alternative issuer in here.
