Hi,
In Jansen's catalog, the counts are mentioned as e/cm or r/cm. A measurement you can NOT do, since where does the cm start and where does it end? Do you measure around the edge or do you cut the edge? We (Rsirian1 and I) have figured out, that Jansen probably counted all the reeds on the edge and then took the diameter of his coin multiplied with PI. This divided into the total reed count is then the r/cm or e/cm.
For some coins you do have different count in the same year, so this should be documented in the numista catalog, but using the total amount of reeds on the edge and no mathematical calculations. In numista not all of these coins are registered, so I tried to find them in Jansen's catalog (I might have missed some, though), and here they are:
For the moment I think we should introduce the number of reeds on the edges for all the coins and add year lines where needed, since anybody can count and understand them. I have the feeling, that Jansen's counts were not always correct, but be that as it might be, since we can not change his catalogs. I'm setting up the documentations with the countings shown.
Here is a tentative made with 5 centavos coin from 1950

If anybody has the coarse reeded coin, I would be happy to get the count and if somebody has it as a double, I would very much appreciate to be able to set up a swap for it?
Have a nice Sunday, the other 4 documentations will follow, when ready
