Which is the most expensive coin on Numista

Hi- fortune seekers.

I am absolutely convinced that it is this coin- Its price is incalculable, it is the price,, of life,,

And there is a paradox:  it's from a defunct famous country (though it's fiction) And here we turned it into an unknown country, something like ,,Antantida,,

It cannot be bought, its price is the price of humanity and faith.

Ivan

Hi Mimael,

Can you tell me how you got it and if you could sell it, what would be the price.

SoccerSandeep

Hi Mimael,

Můžeš mi říct, jak jsi to získal a jestli bys to mohl prodat, jaká by byla cena?

No one in the world has enough money to buy from the manufacturer.

Sometimes even the very metal from which it is made is sometimes a mystery. The question of how I got it is very complicated.

i know there are collectors in the world who have it but they would have to write that themselves how they got it.

,, Simple finances are sometimes a fleeting thing and there are other higher values,,

( However, my friend, I feel that you are looking for wealth, but it is not in money, believe me )

Thanks for enlightening me sir

Could it be the 2018 $9,000 Australian Discovery Coin

1.8 kg of pure gold, with inset pink diamonds.

I'd be surprised if there was something more expensive. The gold value is around 50 million euros.

Are there any coins that are quite expensive but can be acquired by a common man ?

Australia's 1 Million Dollars Gold Nugget coin weighs 1 Ton!

It is priceless - as the unique example that exists is in a museum in Australia.

50 Million Euros = 50 Million U.S. Dollars!

Spoken true!

Seems that Australians have more gold than they know what to do with!

Australia churns out heaps of bullion coins, non-circulating medal-coin commemoratives, & heaps of circulating commemorative coins.

South Africa is the biggest gold producing country in the entire Commonwealth - but used to have a very restrained commemorative coin policy prior to 1994, especially in relation to bullion coins & non-circulating medal-coin commemoratives, but since 1994, things have snowballed downhill where so many of them are being churned out in line with international trends.

Cheerios Sacagawea dollar. Over $10,000 at auction right now

If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything

The 6400 réis coin from 1822 (a.k.a. “coronation piece”) is, perhaps, the rarest Brazilian coin. Its record auction price was US$ 499,375.00 (AU/XF, 2014), but sometimes they appear on the market by much less.

As far as I know, there are 16 known surviving pieces, 10 of them probably in private collections (link in Portuguese):

If you want to be blunt the most expensive is the 1933 Double Eagle. But i'm not sure if that's what you meant.

The million dollar Aussie coin is probably the most expensive individual coin ever produced, but it's obviously not for circulation (or even a commermative).  In theory, any government can top this at any moment. If you'll remember there was talk of the U.S. minting a 1 trillion dollar coin a while back.

As for the most expensive coin aside from these (and other famous coins) it's probably a random pattern or just a rare type piece. It's not exactly possible to tell given that there are so many coins with so many years. Not to mention the fact that some 1 of the kind or lost coins could theoretically top any auction record.

One famous coin that I know of is held by the Hunt Museum in Ireland. According to legend it was one of the thirty pieces of silver in the Bible. It almost certainly isn't (coins like these were all over the place during the Medieval period) but if someone proved its authenticity it'd be priceless.

Easily researched on the web.

Userchap is correct.  This Numista listing includes the United States 1933 Double Eagle:  20 Dollars (Saint-Gaudens - Double Eagle, With motto) - United States – Numista

Highest selling price for a coin.  The Australian coin has never been sold.

Below $1,000,000 it is more or less a “sliding scale” and you can find a coin that has sold for any price you wish to name.
