Closest comparison I can find is this:

Wondering if anyone has any further info but my suspicion is a Roman provincial Elagalabus. Obverse is very worn and off centered when minted. The profile has a radiate crown. 22mm length 1.5mm thickness.
SC on Roman coins usually means Senatus Consulto however this is a provincial coin from Syria and the SC stands for Syria Coele. I don't see the radiate crown on the obverse, just the remains of what once was a portrait. It could be Elagabalus, it could also be anyone else from Syria as multiple emperors used the same reverse on their coins.

Here's a coin of emperor Claudius almost 200 years before Elagabalus:

Very enlightening. Thanks. I also wondered if I was looking at the reverse incorrectly and perhaps It was S S and the symbol above was an eagle of some type.
You're right about the eagle, a common motive on Syrian coins however I doubt it's S S. I know of no ancients coins with S S on them, it's most likely S C with part of the eagle and C colliding. I'm certain this is a provincial coin from Syria just that the obverse is too far gone to be sure of the emperor however if someone recognizes it to being something else I'm happy to be corrected. :)
