1893 Columbia Exposition half dollar

My grandson was given this for his collection.  We thought it was a token until we looked it up.  It doesn't appear to be particularly valuable, but am wondering how much the hole drilled in it subtracts from whatever value it has.  When we looked it up, it said it is silver, so would it have more value just for the silver content?  I know you can look up melt value, but that does not necessarily mean it could be sold for that, right?  Can anyone give some insight into this?

I have one of those! It's a pretty neat coin and It's probably around 40 dollars or so on ebay but has a lower price of silver

see here as well

But what about the hole drilled in it?  I want to know how much that detracts from value.
Well, I've seen many coins with holes! In fact I have an 1877CC Trade Dollar with a hole sadly. I would say that that coin is in a VG condition and I would probably say about 25 Dollars  :`
But if its 25 with VG condition so if it holed maybe 15/20 depends most people would rather have a worn than holed example I only have holed gap-fillers that are around 99p
oh no Mark, its 25 with the hole! This coin in VG is about 40USD! xD
and can you tell me more about the gap fillers please  :o  I'm very much interested
Thanks for letting me know about how the coin might be graded and approximate value.  I guess that getting it for free makes it a fairly good deal for an 8 year old, huh?  I don't think he would want to sell it anyway, but likes to know if it is worth something.
I must say it's pretty good for an 8 year old  :`
