This is what I think I have so far. Everything is open for discussion. I've marked the sections on the graphic for easier navigation.
1. You missed the biggest discriminator of the hair styles. The Red Book has "extra curl near shoulder." It's this curl:

2. "1st hair style", "hair style 1", "style 1 hair", "type 1" Which one? Will need to change year lines to match.
3. Why 1897 reverse?
4. Since the overdate coins were from 1897 they would have the 1st. Since the 2nd came out in 1798 there were no 1797 with the 2nd.
5. Red Book says 1796. PCGS says 1795. SCWC says 1795
and 1796. I'm lost on this one.
6. Neither Red Book, SCWC or PCGS consider them separate variants. The Numista coin page only has one and a significant number (~30) of members claim to have one. If we split into 2 year lines we won't be able to divide them properly. I vote to keep the comment but not create a new year line.
7. Delete ngc.com
It think that's it?
