New section could be named "Official Journal" and could be positioned somewhere more to the bottom of pages. I guess field with single line entry or single link entry in this case would be enough.
This is definitely a good idea. I recently found this document which gives details of all the legislation for Portuguese coins since 1910, which could be used on a great many pages.

If only these pieces were obvious counterfeits. We're talking here about pieces produced outside of a country and about which the government knows nothing but which bear that country's name. Examples include many pieces "from" Somalia that we alread list in exonumia. I'm not sure it will be possible to set such a high bar for entry into the main coin catalogue but it's definitely worth considering.

To me, a counterfeit is a copy of something else that is legal money. With these pieces, since they never go near the country in question, I'm not sure they actually break any laws (sadly).

I can adhere to that, but then we're really talking of something, which has no connection to the country in question, so we talk about unauthorized TOKENS, which do absolutely not interest me at all.
Tomorrow I can go and order some round scraps of metal punched with FRANCE, 10 Francs, in honour of Brigitte Bardot or anybody else, but that has just not nothing to do with numismatics, really let's stay serious?
I completely agree that these "coins" are worthless, but many of them still sneak their way into the catalog. There is currently no way to validate their authenticity other then the judgment of a referee.

I'm glad to have found somebody thinking likewise. As such all those "strange" metal pieces don't really bother me, but they are making the application heavier and the forae full of non interesting themes (for me that is).

They don't interest me either but they need weeding out, as many are already present in Numista. I guess the hope would be that we could alert unsuspecting collectors against these unofficial pieces by listing them in exonumia with appropriate warnings?
