I have a Philippines 1 Piso 2010 KM# 269a.2 (bold letters) Rev. III Frost...plwase add this to the catalogue. Thank you
And where do you see the "frost"?
The Reverse Side of the coins are Frosted.
Here is the video showing how the 2010 Bold Letters Rev. III Frost lookslike.
Here are the coins that I have collected of the 2010 Bold Letters Rev. III Frost
Here is another video of the coin.
(8 Here is the video - where?

That second picture with 13 coins - do you have anything better -
it is too shaky and too bright. Are they all frosted or just some?
Cannot see what is shown.

All 13 coins are FROSTED in the REVERSE SIDE. I have tried 2 times to upload a sample video as a proof but I'm having difficulties uploading them I will try again later when I get a better Internet signal. I apologize and thank you for your patience and please consider this request.

Okay👍
Nice...👍👍👍
It would help if
one good picture
with both coins, on a table
just the reverse side
normal on left, frosted on right

so we have something to compare to. :)

Agree
I have 2010 frost
The one on the left is the normal 2010 Bold Letters Rev. III which is already listed in Numista and the one on the right is the one I am making the request to be added as the 2010 Bold Letters Rev. III Frost. I apologize for the quality of the picture but rest assured first thing tomorrow morning I will send another pic. Thank you once again for the consideration of my request. Keep safe always

I can see the right coin is nicer with a shinier background, but sorry, I don't see any frosting, not on the pictures and not in the video. Maybe it's difficult to capture it in a picture and I can see it better when I have the coins in hand.
On the other hand, when you talk about frosting, I think about the Canada, 25 Cents 2013, Life in the North (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces52214.html). And although this is also only a picture but you can very clearly see which parts are frosted or not:

And that's a big difference in comparison with all the pictures I see here. Compare the belugas.

Side by side comparison with 2013 Bold Letters Rev. Die III Frost (already listed) and 2010 Bold Letters Rev. Die III Frost
As promised here are the pictures. Thank you
OK. Yes. But where is the frosting?
They look the same - just one is shinier.
What part is supposed to be frosted? ``-

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces17107.html
On there I see
Frosted - 2003 2008
Frost - 2012 2013 2014 2015
So also either have Frosted or Frost not both -
and you want 2010 added to either of those -
but where is the frost - reverse or obverse -
and what part is frosted??
What catalogue says there is frosting? Nothing on this page >

Anyone got any pictures of any of those years?
Just asking. :)

As per request of Mr. ZacUK. Here are the pictures 2012 2013 2014 2015 Frost. They are already listed in Numista. As you can see on the pictures 2012 2014 and 2015 are Frosted on both sides and 2013 is Frosted only on the REVERSE. The 2010 has the same FEATURES of the 2013 Frost. If need more pictures I am more the willing to provide them for you. Thank you
Are there any special sets containing this coin? Otherwise the "frosted" coins are just made with newly polished/sanded dies.
Because who would specially prepare a die for mass production coins?
I have the same opinion as Idolenz. The frosting is in no way comparable with the frosting on proof coins or the frosting on the Canadian 25 cents 2013, Life in the North coins. I think the frosting is just a stage in the declining process of striking coins, after new dies/newly polished (or sanded) dies. I think it's maybe wiser in stead of adding the 2010 frost year line, deleting the 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 frost year lines. The first pictures here were blurred and unclear, but the latest pictures are perfect but even with those perfect pictures I really can't see the frosting.

It would not be ideal to remove the Frost Years Lines because not only they posses the characteristics of a Frosted or Frost they also posess the characteristic of having much BOLDER LETTERS/YEAR and the size of the gear are much larger on the Reverse of the coin/s from the Normal Coins. Also, the rarerity of the coins are also based on the characteristic of being a Frosted/Frost coin here in the Philippines. Please do understand that sometimes pictures doesn't give justice to the beauty of the coins that they have. If theres only a way for me to have some sample coins sent to in order for you to physically see and appreciate the beauty of these Frosted/Frost it will be my pleasure the send them to you. Thank you
I agree to sir Sonny, the frosting with sugarlike granules best differentiate descripancy on inscripted details on the die from the non frosted and also bares nicer details if found in circulation. Most prominent frosted finish is the 2015 with cartwheel luster. Keep👍

Can you point me out where exactly the "much BOLDER LETTERS/YEAR" on your picture and show me "the size of the gear is much larger" on your picture above? Again, I really don't see the difference in the letters are the size of the gear. You specifically said two times "much", so the difference must be very obvious. Why can't I see it? The year lines say from 2006 all the years have bold letters, frost or not (see green rectangle on picture at the bottom).

I'm totally agreed on that. Nothing better than having a coin in hand in stead of seeing pictures/scans/videos.

Thank you for your offer but you're much too kind. Besides, I already might have the coins (at least the regular ones). Unfortunately, this type is still somewhere between my unsorted coins. I surely remember this thread as soon as they emerge.

By the way, can anyone explain what the "OBV III" is for the 2013 coin?

Let me first say that 1 Piso of the Philippines minted from 2003 to 2017 were minted with three different DIEs. And the DIE III of these coins have some VARIANTS in which some of them have Low Mintage and they are the once that are rare and the collectible ones. As per you request attached are the pics of the so called 2013 BOLD LETTER OBV DIE III. As you can see on the pics the 2013 BOLD LETTERS OBV DIE III the LETTERS and YEARS are BOLDER on both OBV and REV side of the coin. Also, the COG WHEEL is also larger on the 2013 BOLD LETTERS OBV. DIE III. Because of the details are Bolder and Larger on the OBV and REV side of the coin hence the name 2013 BOLD LETTERS OBV. DIE III. This is the only coin minted that has BOLDER LETTERS and YEARS on both sides of the coin that is why the name is different from the other coins on the list that you are showing.

On the list below 2013 BOLD LETTER REV. DIE III FROST. This coin has only the BOLD LETTERS and 1993 on the REV with also a LARGER COG WHEEL.

If I may add in 2013 there are 3 Variants such as:
●2013 REV. DIE III (Normal or Common)
●2013 BOLD LETTERS OBV. DIE III
●2013 BOLD LETTERS REV. DIE III FROST (see pics on my previous comment for Mr. ZacUK and I will provide more pics later today)

I have this coin. 1 PISO YEAR 2010 BOLD LETTERS REV.III FROST

Here are the pics the I promised. Side by side comparison. They only used REV. DIE III on 2013 in which they have 3 Variants and 2 of them have a Low Mintage which makes them collectible here in the Philippines. 2013 Bold Letters OBV. Die III and 2013 Bold Letters REV. Die III are the collectible ones and they are difficult to acquire or hunt for while in cirulation.

Hello,
I believe this was resolved a while ago and it was anyway not a request for a currency in the database, so I will close this.
