Link is not working :( According to Wikipedia, these should be all overprints, right?
I like the way it described the territory as a leased territory.

Weihaiwei was a British Leased Territory from 1898 to 1930, Kai.
It was also a Royal Navy base that sailors nicknamed it ‘Way High’.

Nicely done Aidan.
Not often we find a new country to add!
Here is a listing for one of the notes issued by Bank of Communications.
Here is an example of a note with the Weihaiwei overprint on it.

Corrected. [The end bracket was being picked as part of the link].
Added a new request for the 1914 1 Choh note to be added to the listing.
Aidan.
There will likely be some new entries, as well as a need to move some existing entries to Weihaiwei.
I have also requested the addition of this 20 Cents;
A chit issued by the Royal Navy Canteen at Weihaiwei.

That is a super reference article! I have just been reading it.
A link to it should be added to the page for the 20 cents.

I can't edit the combined picture into 2 separate pictures though.
Aidan.
That picture is embedded into the pdf at 300 dpi. I could extract it as a jpg - the quality is acceptable. Permission to use it would have to be sought from Tony James.
I may be able to locate it elsewhere from a numista approved source.
Such a canteen chit would likely be in Exonumia, so a section for Weihaiwei would have to be created there also.
I found a few nice quality images of some of the banknotes, but no pic of the canteen chit yet.

This was issued by the Royal Navy, not a private outfit.
Anyway, it may have been released into local circulation as currency.

Would that make it a bit more like the NAAFI vouchers then.

More like the British Armed Forces notes overprinted for use on ships.
This Weihaiwei 20 Cents is now listed up on https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=307636&cat=22258&ppuser=&sortby=d&way=desc .
Only the second Weihaiwei note listed up on there.
This is the other one listed;

It is now added.
Nicely done. I will see if any of the banknote images I found on it warrant a new entry. The notes are quite expensive in some cases!
Weihaiwei should be a full section on its own, not merely a subsection under ‘China’ - but like what has been done with Hong Kong, Macao, & Tibet.

I don't find it. Where is it listed?
Still not listed separately like has been done for Hong Kong.
King George V (1910-30) should be listed as the monarch for Weihaiwei.
