Nordic gold is a gold-coloured copper alloy, containing no gold despite its name. It is a type of
aluminium bronze with a standard composition of 89% copper, 5% aluminium, 5% zinc, and 1% tin. It was developed in Sweden in the 1990s specifically for coinage as a hard, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant alloy with a gold-like appearance. Unlike many other gold-coloured coinage alloys, it contains no nickel, making it suitable for use where nickel allergies are a concern.
