3本の横棒は、本来は「豊穣の壺」として意図されたものだが、初期の作例にはほとんど見られない。ほとんどは、単に3本の棒の劣化したデザインである。

9世紀から13世紀にかけてマレー諸島で使用された金貨。おそらくŚailendra時代にジャワ島で最初に開発され、その後スマトラ島やマレー半島など各地に広まった。フィリピンで使われていた初期の金貨と類似していることから、ピロンチートと呼ばれることもある。しばしばマジャパヒト硬貨と呼ばれるが、この硬貨の一般的な使用は西暦1293年のマジャパヒト帝国の建国以前である。14世紀までに、マジャパヒトでの現金取引は、実際には中国の現金硬貨に移行していた（Wicks 1986: 44-47, 50-55）。
初期の標本は小さく平らで丸い縁のサイコロのようであり、後期の標本はより球形である。現存する標本は2.4～2.5グラムの間で一貫した重さを示しており、タヒルの銘があるにもかかわらず、これはマール単位に相当する（Christie 1996: 250-251）。これらの硬貨は、古典期ジャワやバリで用いられたシステムの一部であり、理想的な重量と単位は以下のように復元される（Wicks 1986: 45, 59）（Christie 1996: 257-260）：
1 kaṭi (608.96 g) = 16 suvarṇa / tahil
1 suvarṇa / tahil (38.06 g) = 16 māl_1E63a
1 māl_1E63a (2.412 g) = 4 kupang

古ジャワ語の碑文では、これらの単位は必ずka、su/ta、mā、kuと略される。これらの単位に言及した最新の碑文は西暦1296年のものである。
