987-996 French denier (Hugh Capet)

Selling this denier, which is also the picture for the coin on numista: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces134201.html. The one I have is the exact one pictured there. This is a very scarce piece, asking $225 for it. Shipping is free to the US via regular mail, and $30 internationally via registered mail (if you want to risk regular mail it's $15). Preferably I'd also insure the package, but I know this would mean disclosing the full value and you'd have to pay import duties on it then. I will not be responsible for the package though after it leaves my hands unless it's insured.

I can also swap this coin for gold or silver since selling gold or silver is easier here in the US than an obscure medieval coin, but I'd prefer to have something that doesn't have much premium over melt value. So with silver this would be a lot of coins/rounds since it would be almost 15 oz.

I am still not a medieval collector, but wow! This coin and the history behind it always succeed in forcing my jaw to drop (I remember helping you evaluate it a while back).

​Yes, it is a beautiful coin. But medieval coins are not my specialty to collect, and so I'd rather put the money to other stuff. Perhaps if it was in better shape too I might keep it but for a $200+ coin I'd rather have something in very nice shape than a lower grade example of a very scarce coin.
