Does anyone collect by shapes ?

After running a sub-collection within my main scope, I've decided on a 2nd one - shapes; square, holed are easy - this one however for commonwealth and colonial purposes is harder - heptagon.

Here is what I have so far (I won't include my 50p coins since that's an obvious ones; it's very odd-looking at a 50 pence piece and seeing a different denomination on it, even the larger and older ones as I am actually old enough to remember old 50p's).

10 rupees Mauritius (new style 50p size)

Solomon Islands dollar (old type 50p)

Kenya 5 shillings (old type 50p)

Seychelles 5 rupees
No and I find that shape particularly unattractive. Round coins are my favourite for some reason, especially with a serrated edge.
Its something different that's all.. I don't particularly collect the shape so much but when I got a couple there I realised there's a few in my collection, I think the affinity of the shape comes from us British since the 50p has always been this shape. I look forward to the Ironside 50p being released this year :)
Yes I go after round ones  :D

I like round ones too ( (8 ), but I do collect Straits/Malayan 1 cent coins, which are square. :~

I don't collect them specifically, but I do have 2 of them.  I have the Solomons coins too (you're welcome by the way) and this one https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces924.html
Aha I forgot about that I have too !

Yeah thanks Neil, forgot to give you credit in this one !

I just like it because its blatantly following suit of the uk 50p coins changed size at the same time too amazing how many countries we still produce coins for ! Actually the FAO 2 leones is a 50p too.
Yeah, it's like Fiji.  They were a real mish mash.  First their decimal coinage was the same as UK with the multi-sided brass 3d coins. Then they switched to copy the Aussie coins with the 12-sided 50c coins, now they're the same as us with the reduced sized coins. I guess if you don't mint your own coins and the planchets are left over you might as well get them to do a small run for your coins.
How about these shapes?

Straits settlements and Ceylon I have them, I just ask because I'm sure I saw someone wanting square coins before !
I am not focused on non round coin shapes, but I must admit, than whenever I can I try to acquire/swap them. I find attractive non round coins, have some squares, scalloped, star pointed, round with holes. But not a triangle coin yet!

I've got plenty of the Cook Islands triangle 2 dollars with another 4 on the way this week.  I'll stick one in my swaps if I get some double-up dates.
I am surprised no one has mentioned diamond shaped coins I think they're cool.
You mean diamond shaped like 1/2 Anna, 2 Annas British India? For me they fall in category of square :)
Got a few of them as well.

I collect triangular and square coins as well. I keep my square ones all together in their square-shaped jelly-pot.  :O

But if I only collect triangular coins, my hobby would soon get to an end!
