At the outbreak of war in 1940, Stord, like many other municipalities, was isolated from the rest of the country. It was quickly decided to solve the money issue by printing our own so-called "Trygdesetlar" in denominations of 1, 2, 5 and 10 kroner.
The notes are printed on colored paper of poor quality, with a picture of Leirvik on the back. The notes were in circulation right up until 1 March 1941 when, following an order from Norges Bank, they were confiscated.
