Issue 1875: In the new circumstances imposed by the Decree-Law of March 19, 1874, it was not possible for the factory installed in the Bank of Spain building to meet the needs of fiduciary circulation, so the General Council agreed, the September 7, 1874, commission a new issue from London. In principle, the notes of this issue were intended to be domiciled in Branches, complying with the provisions of article 7 of the Decree-Law: "Given that in the situation that the country is currently passing through, it is not possible to verify the material transfers of funds with the speed that may be required for the reimbursement of Bank of Spain banknotes upon presentation at the Branches, for now, the amount of banknotes required by the importance of the Bank will be domiciled in each of them. of its operations, which will be distinguished by a seal indicating the Branch to which it belongs." To this end, the reverse of these banknotes has a large central space, where the name of the Branches would be stamped. However, in 1882, the series of 25, 50 and 100 Pesetas were authorized to circulate throughout Spain, without a domicile seal.
