(en) This coin was initially listed by Krause as a pattern with the catalog number of Pn1, however the mint for Sri Lanka never produced these. Overall identical to the 1 Cent coin (KM#137), it differs greatly in size and the engraving is cruder with several raised spots in the field. Generally a fairly attractive piece, they have commanded prices of several dollars (U.S.), though much of that is probably due to the misunderstanding of its status. The origin of these pieces is currently unknown.
