1 Liard - Ernest of Lynden Bust type

In the KM catalog, Reckem is under Austrian Netherlands.

Ernestus probably struck this type of liards in imitation of the liards of French duchies and those of Ernestus (1581-1612) and Ferdinandus (1612-1650) of Bavaria from the princely state of Liège. On this type of liard the Count of Reckheim still clearly used his own family coats of arms. The liards without a year may have all been minted in the period 1603-1620 because Ernestus still calls himself baron here. In 1620 Reckheim became a county and came (count). The year 1634 which is mentioned by de Mey and Lucas should actually have a text with COMES (count) in it.
