Issued by the Federal Reserve as part of the Series of 1928 issues and released to the general public on July 10, 1929. This note, along with the 8 denominations of Federal Reserve Notes, were the first standardized notes in terms of design and characteristics, featuring similar portraits and other facets. The notes were also the first to measure at 6.14 inches by 2.61 inches, quite a bit smaller than the large-sized predecessors of Series 1923 and earlier that measured at 7.421 8 inches by 3.125 inches.
