男性像（イオカストス、またはアリスタイオス）が左側に座り、右手に笏を持ち、左手は腰に巻いたドレープを後ろに回し、座面の下には蛇がいる。坐像には識別を助けるような特徴的な特徴はない。現在の解釈では、アイオロスの息子イオカストスだとされている。イオカストスはカラブリアの大部分を治めていた王である。プラトンの弟子ヘラクリデスによれば、彼は蛇に噛まれて死んだ。兄弟のフェレイモンとアガトゥルノスは、メッサナとティンダリスのコインに記念されている。
